“I don’t have time? – How to make time infinitely yours”

It is not rare to hear this sentence: “I don’t have time”. But how come we let it sound as if it was our property, something we own? Time cannot be grasped nor be explained. Because time is fundamentally infinite. But underlying the fact that everyone has the same claim of time, it is crucial to elaborate on this. Because we are all in this together and should deeply start valuing our time. Even regarding the truth that time itself seems infinite, our own physical time on earth is finite and limited. And it’s on us, to make the best out of it…

The relevance of priorities

Priorities are way more meaningful than we might assume. The very point where I claim to have no time, is where I put an activity or person prior to another one. If I am not keen to see my best friend because I prefer to spend time alone, I simply put myself first in the priority hierarchy and prioritize self-care over socialising. This is totally reasonable, because everyone has their own individual needs and desires on how to cope with life and its challenges. Whenever we feel drained, it depends for example on our personality type whether we recharge via activity or non-active things. Meaning, if you are extroverted you need social stimulation in order to restore your energies. An introverted human might need more space for himself to recharge its batteries.

You should set an activity or person as a priority because it matters to you and it aligns with your personal identity and character traits.

The potential of time

Letting time flow as it goes and not working against it, is more vital than anything else. Racing against time and trying to obtain every second is a non-human approach and very drastic. Although, majority is trying to make the best out of the time, we should not forget the essence about it. The value we get from it. The content that time serves us with. Time leaves the opportunity to shape our day the way we want by aiming to appreciate it. This is where time management and energy alignment come into place. We start harmonizing these 2 aspects in order to live a fulfilling and satisfying life.

Manage your time in a way that serves you and doesn’t destroy you.

A time management aligned to your energy levels

The essence of time management is to understand and know at what exact times during the day your energy levels are the best and when you work the most efficiently. As soon as you find out when you work for example the most focused, you align your day schedule according to that and achieve one major milestone: You do genuinely NOT get tired.

The more you plan your time efficiently, the less you deplete your energy.

Because knowing your energy levels at certain times, makes you understand your own functioning. This is fundamental and maintains your knowledge about yourself. Once I feel that I get tired I usually do not pursue any active activities. I either take a power nap or do light walking and get some daylight, to boost my levels of dopamine. And I actively choose to be productive only at times where I feel energized. Even if it’s only 2 hours in the mornings, then so be it. I realised that I get a lot done in those 2 hours, because I am the most energized during that time. This incorporates to also support your energy levels by adding good nutrition and eating healthily indeed.

Support what you can, and maintain what you get.
